Rain, rain, seriously, go away.

Floods again!

Torrential rain has caused widespread flash flooding across parts of Melbourne. Austhorities are warning of more on the way.

I think this is seriously scary, considering all these natural disasters in this country. And its not just Australia. I started reading the news more in depth about the United States and the snow storm they've been having. I think (help me if im wrong) up to 3/4 of a metre of snow fallen on most of the country?

Now I know how the affected feel, last night over 100mm of rain fell on the town i live in, creating flooding, and making it hard to commute to and fro work.

It got me thinking, how many people have been effected by floods/snow storm etc? Anything natural? Comment below and let me know!

  1. It's thunder-storming here on the east coast of the US. Nothin' too abnormal though.

  2. I'm out in California, so the whether is pretty mild at the moment. But out here we're craving some rain. Kind of ironic how things work =P

  3. Yeah the snow storm here is pretty bad. We've had two deaths in my neighborhood due to a fatal crash. I think I've heard an estimated 3.8 billion dollars in damages.

Hope everything goes well in Australia.

  4. Affected by floods here in Brisbane. I understand why people are concerned with the weather in American and such, but here in Australia, this is expected. Like the locusts that come each year... the media makes it out like its a once in a lifetime thing... it's happened EVERY YEAR.

    My condolences to everyone affected.

  9. one of the earliest memories i have was when i was 4 at a babysitter's house and it flooded outside. we had to evacuate the house and wade through the water to a shelter. that was a pretty cool experience, if only because i didn't have anything important enough to care about water damage.

  12. That looks scary, it's been snowing here which is unusual, but it hasn't caused any major problems.

  13. I haven't personally been affected by it because the area I live in is on high ground. I see it about the news though when there's a lot of rain in England that there are places being flooded and towns being destroyed....

Would hate to be put in such a situation...

  17. lol beyond, htis is starting to get crazy. Now I'm not a believer of 2012 or anything like that, but shit's really getting real. Could it be we are nearing the earth's natural ice age? By the way, have you taken a look at the figure review on my blog?

    Cheers
